Onboarding Assistant

Opportunity
Onboarding new employees to the G-P platform is a long and stressful process that requires a lot of hand-holding from our customer support. As part of our product strategy to enable users to self-serve, we decided to leverage AI to assist customers through the process. The goal was to provide our 13 years of expertise in a consistent and intuitive tool.
My Role
As design leader for the EOR platform, I drove the visions, strategy and execution. I worked with colleagues in Product, Engineering and Marketing to craft a compelling vision for AI in the platform.
As our first foray into AI, it was important that the Onboarding Assistant showcased GP's AI expertise and opened the door to further investment in LLM solutions in the future.

Our first Assistant floated above the UI. This enabled us to release across both legacy and new pages – enabling quick insights from customers.

Subsequent versions began to adopt the new Near Star design language. Our new MFE platform enabled us to dock the assistant so it remains available throughout the user's journey.
